New empolyees 2015

April 28, 2015

Proventus Capital Partners continues to be active in the market for providing financing for mid-sized companies in Northern Europe. Since we closed our most recent fund, Proventus Capital Partners III, in May 2014, we have invested almost SEK 5 billion in 13 companies in need of capital for expansion, refinancing and acquisition. Meanwhile, we are expanding our organization through adding three new investment professionals while also strengthening our back-office team.

Investment Director Christian Magnuson:

Where did you work before coming to Proventus? Prior to joining Proventus, I worked at Merrill Lynch, SEB and most recently at Cordet Capital. The major part of this time, I spent structuring, investing in and managing leveraged debt transactions in Northern Europe, both with respect to senior and Mezzanine credits.

Why did you choose to come to Proventus? Proventus has an outstanding reputation among corporates and financial market participants as a skilled investor and as a reliable financial partner. The team at Proventus has also proven its ability to take on complex situations and effectively structure and manage risk. I am really excited about the opportunity to apply and develop my credit and investment competencies in this entrepreneurial environment – as well as to add to a very proficient investment team.

What do you hope to accomplish at Proventus? I hope and trust I will add credit and risk expertise, a different perspective and other types of experiences to the team. I also expect my network in the Nordic region and Northern Europe will be a complement to that of Proventus’.

Fund Administration Officer Victoria Mårtensson:

Where did you work before coming to Proventus? I returned to Sweden in 2011 after 13 years in London, where I worked in the financial industry. For the last eight years, I have been responsible for the back and middle office operations of a small niche structured product provider. Most recently, and prior to joining Proventus, I worked at SEB Fund Operations.

Why did you choose to come to Proventus? I like the corporate environment and being part of an efficient, close-knit professional team with a proven track record within its field. I look forward to gaining experience of the credit fund sector, which is a new area of the financial industry for me.

What do you hope to accomplish at Proventus? I hope to be able to use my international experience to help develop the back office functions to meet the needs of our investors and borrowers as Proventus continues to grow.

Investment Analyst Anton Lindh:

Where did you work before coming to Proventus? Prior to joining Proventus, I worked as an analyst at Keystone Advisers in Stockholm, a corporate finance boutique specializing in Nordic mid-market M&A advisory.

Why did you choose to come to Proventus? From my point of view, Proventus’ niche in private credit investments is highly interesting - both because of the strategy and the history of the company being a contrarian investor in the Nordic and European markets. Also, with the current transformation of the corporate financing landscape for mid-market companies in Europe, with a shift from bank debt towards tailor-made direct lending arrangements from credit funds and similar, I believe Proventus has a very relevant strategy. It is an interesting time to join the company as the market is maturing and Proventus will have ample investment opportunities given the success of its most recent fund.

What do you hope to accomplish at Proventus? I hope to be a positive addition to the Proventus team and to bring a new angle to the table with my background from M&A.  I also hope to be able to gain greater knowledge within the corporate credit sphere through my new colleagues.

Investment Analyst Jenny Johansson:

Where did you work before coming to Proventus? I graduated from the Finance Master program at Stockholm School of Economics in spring 2013. For the last two years, I have been working as an analyst at Catella Corporate Finance, which specializes in real estate transactions. During my studies, I was an intern at SEB Enskilda and Carnegie Investment Bank. Apart from my interest in finance, I am dedicated to aiding non-profit organizations and have been working at Stockholms Stadsmission, as well as being a volunteer for SOS-Children’s Villages in Benin.

Why did you choose coming to Proventus? I find Proventus attractive as it offers exciting and challenging work in the investment area. Proventus plays a significant role in the business environment, enabling companies to develop. The fact that Proventus is both a financial and strategic partner describes the key role Proventus plays in the achievements of its investments. Proventus is a slim organization, which means that every employee plays a role in the overall target to create and deliver value. In addition, the fact that Proventus is a family-owned investment company entails a long-term perspective and an organization characterized by a strong base built on shared values and goals. Finally, I share Proventus’ interest in creating value that is not only measured financially.

What do you hope to accomplish at Proventus? I hope to contribute in the process where Proventus provides financial and strategic capacity to companies in a change. Through Proventus engagement, I want to see companies grow, improve and evolve where their success is closely linked to the success of Proventus.
