Proventus and The Jewish Theatre awarded for excellent book design

Proventus Annual report 2006 which inlcudes the volumes Numbers, Words, Talk and Pictures, designed by Anders Wester, has been awarded The National Library of Sweden’s Swedish Book Arts Diploma 2007. 25 books meeting the criteria for excellent book design are nominated each year.

The jury's motivation: "An annual report with a fresh approach in a format you can't miss. Striking ribbons with industrial character and an appealing range of colours. An annual report that mirrors the company's interest in both culture and a desire to stand out."

MD, published by the Jewish Theatre, containing two beautiful books designed by Anders Wester, with unique material on and by Marguerite Duras, have also been awarded the Swedish Book Arts Diploma 2007.

The jury's motivation: "Exquisite covers giving the illusion of a worn out cover, a trompe-l'oeil sensation. Varied and eventful typography, good repro and printing. The rubber band around the two books is an attractive detail."
