

Tom Dixon and George Smith launched a new upholstery collection
at ‘The Factory’ transforming a Knightsbridge ballroom into an upholstery factory creating a new collection on site.
Skilled craftsmen demonstrated traditional upholstery techniques using materials such as boar bristle, horse hair, steel springs, padding and muslin. The new collection included the Wingback Sofa and footstool, Plump chair and sofa, Club sofa, Bean Sofa and Justice Chair.

Originally the home of eminent painter Sir John Lavery, this regency building provided a fitting backdrop for the experimental fusing of cutting edge contemporary design with centuries old traditional craft skills.
