For more than a decade, the poet and musician Lee Ranaldo, a founding member of Sonic Youth, has been collaborating with the artist Leah Singer on multimedia performance pieces involving sound, words and photographic projections. "iloveyouihateyou" is a work under constant progress and changes each time it's on view


Santiago Sierra

Santiago Sierra has worked since the 1990s to create socially critical actions. His art leaves no one unmoved. For Magasin 3 he will focus on the location, the harbour area, when creating two new works. The artist will also show his most comprehensively challenging sculptural work to date from 2005–2006. Opens February 19, 2009.

 

Johan Grimonprez
28 March – 7 June 2009

Johan Grimonprez presents for the first time in a European art institution his latest work “Double Take” (2008), part of the Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall collection. The film interweaves material about and by Alfred Hitchcock with television reports from the Cold War. Opens March 28, 2009.


Truls Melin: Outdoor project

Truls Melin's sculptures convey echoes from 1950s architecture and the Swedish functionalist style. In the outdoor space in front of Magasin 3, the artist will now be presenting one of his evocative large-format sculptures created specifically for Magasin 3. Inauguration March 2009.
