BRIO Awards

The Golden Chair for "Best Interior" is an architectural award handed out every second year by the Swedish Association of Architects. This year's Golden Chair went to the architectural firm Urban Design for the interior of the BRIO Headquarters in Malmö.

The design concept for the new BRIO headquarters is generated out of the updated brand and its renewed colour scheme. There is a simplicity in forms and layout that mirrors the simple fun of the bright coloured wooden toys that made BRIO known all over the world. The furniture is a mix of highly modern and retro classics.

Urban Design has been acting as a strategic design partner in the whole process, from the early discussions of the role of the new headquarters, through the choice of location and finally to the completion of the new office and show rooms. Urban Design also designed the brand exhibition which, after a tour in Skåne, now is part of the lobby and the 3D logotype by the entrance.

The BRIO headquarters have also reached the finale in the “Best Nordic Interior Design” category of the Forumaid competition. The winner of that award will be appointed in February 2007.

Gold Award (Winner in the Mini World Category for Network Set & Accessories)
