As a politician and author and through his role in forming public opinion, Per Ahlmark has made a unique contribution to the fight for democracy and against totalitarian teachings and anti-Semitism. The Per Ahlmark Foundation was created to celebrate his 70th birthday on the 15th of January 2009. The purpose of the foundation is to promote scientific research and education in political science, economy and the history of ideas and Jewish history, with a particular emphasis on democracy and human rights. The foundation achieves this primarily by arranging seminars.
