Batsheva Dance
Company

Batsheva Dance Company was founded in Israel in 1964. Proventus has been a supporter since 1998.

Proventus is a long-term supporter of the Batsheva Dance Company, one of the foremost contemporary dance companies in the world. Batsheva was originally founded by Baroness Batsheva de Rothschild and Martha Graham in 1964. Ohad Naharin, artistic director of Batsheva since 1990, is genuinely interested in exploring the boundaries between art and performance. Based in Tel Aviv, the company travels continually, performing all over the world, and has established a junior ensemble to promote a new generation of choreographers and dancers, but also to introduce school children to dance. It has become an institution with world class dancers and choreography – and at the same time a force for the experimental, or even more radical, development of new styles, choreographies and movements.

Proventus’ cultural activities are a demonstration of our commitment to looking beyond the short-term. To Proventus none of these projects is about philanthropy or sponsorship in the narrow financial sense. They are about learning and a clear exchange between both parties to the partnership, and a demonstration of our values and our continual search for creative innovation.
