Since 1998, Proventus has been a supporter of the Batsheva Dance Company, one of the foremost contemporary dance companies in the world. The Family Robert Weil Foundation took responsibility of the long-term partnership in 2014, a support that was focused on the salary of the dancers. Batsheva was originally founded in Israel by Baroness Batsheva de Rothschild and Martha Graham in 1964. Ohad Naharin, artistic director of Batsheva since 1990, is genuinely interested in exploring the boundaries between art and performance. Based in Tel Aviv, the company travels continually, performs all over the world, and has established a junior ensemble to promote a new generation of choreographers and dancers and introduce school children to dance. Today, Batsheva is a world class institution and a force for the experimental: pioneering radical new styles, choreographies and movements.
