Gabriel Urwitz came to Proventus and started working with Robert Weil in 1984. He was member of the board of Proventus AB from 1981 and CEO 1985 to 1989. Amongst others he was part of the creation of Gotagruppen 1986-1990 by the merger of a large number of provincial banks. Urwitz left the Proventus organization 1989 and was CEO of Gota Bank during the period April 1989 – August 1992. Urwitz is chairman and founder of the private equity company Segulah. Gabriel Urwitz has a Ph.D in financial economics from Carnegie-Mellon University. 1976-77 he was assistant professor at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. He was 1977-2002 Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics and was appointed Honorary Doctorate in Financial Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics in 2009.
