In 2007, Israeli documentarians The Heymann Brothers took on the task of portraying Ohad Naharin, artistic director of Batsheva Dance Company. This decision would take them on an 8-year-long journey that they could not have anticipated. Tomer Heymann, the director of the film, shadowed the initially reluctant Mr. Naharin to create something that, 8 years later, turned out as a unique and groundbreaking film about one of the most important choreographers of this time.
The Jewish Theatre, Proventus and The Family Robert Weil Foundation was in the end the largest supporter of Mr Gaga. Mr Gaga premiered in October 2015 and is one of the few documentaries that have exceeded an audience of 100 000 in its homeland Israel.
