The Per Ahlmark Foundation was initiated and founded 2009 by Proventus.
As a politician and author and through his role in forming public opinion, Per Ahlmark has made a unique contribution to the fight for democracy and against totalitarian teachings and anti-Semitism. The Per Ahlmark Foundation was created to celebrate his 70th birthday on the 15th of January 2009. The purpose of the foundation is to promote scientific research and education in political science, economy and the history of ideas and Jewish history, with a particular emphasis on democracy and human rights. The foundation achieves this primarily by arranging seminars and in supporting Mr Ahlmark in his writings.

2012: 3 of May the Per Ahlmark Foundation arranged a seminar called 'The new Middle East - Challanges and Opportunities' in cooperation with Glasshouse Forum Foundation and The Swedish Institute of International Affairs

The New Middle East

2011: On the 13th of January the Per Ahlmark Foundation in cooperation with the British Council and the Goethe-Institut Schweden arranged the seminar ”The Rumour About the Jews”. Antsemitism in Contemporary Europe. The lecturers were the British lawyer and scholar Anthony Julius and the German social psychologist Andreas Zick, professor at the University of Bielefeld. The seminar was introduced and moderated by Henrik Bachner.

2010: On the 14th of January the Per Ahlmark Foundation arranged the seminar “Rethinking Multiculturalism” at Proventus in Stockholm. The author Kenan Malik was invited to speak along with the journalists Dilsa Demirbag-Sten and Per Svensson. The moderator was Qaisar Mahmood.

2009: On the 15th of January in connection with Per Ahlmark’s 70th birthday the foundation held its first seminar entitled “The Victory and Crisis of Democracy”.
